Whether your function is large or small, indoors or out, our Special Events Department will work with you individually to make sure our Museum is the perfect backdrop for your next special occasion.
Located in the heart of historic downtown Fredericksburg, the Fredericksburg Area Museum and Cultural Center is proud to house seven permanent exhibitions and three changing galleries in two historic buildings. Additionally, the Museum offers three distinctly different places for your next event. Whatever your needs may be, you can rest assured we can provide the ideal location.Council Chamber, Town Hall / Market House Looking for a space to accommodate a meeting, reception or perhaps a small dinner? The Council Chamber of the Museum’s Town Hall / Market House offers 810 square feet (27’ x 30’) and will accommodate up to 100 guests. The Town Hall dates to 1816 and served as the City of Fredericksburg’s seat of government until 1982. The Council Chamber served as a banquet room and ballroom and was the site of a reception for General Lafayette in 1824. Have your next event in this historic space!
 
Have your next outdoor event in historic Market Square, located behind the Museum’s Town Hall / Market House. Perfect for weddings, receptions and other outdoor events, Market Square measures 3,936 square feet (48’ x 82’) and will accommodate up to 750 guests. If your event requires tents or other equipment, we will be happy to provide you with a list of rental companies to meet your needs.
 Mansard Gallery, Catherine W. Jones McKann Center Newly renovated and available in the fall of 2008, the Mansard Gallery’s 1,092 square feet (28’ x 39’) will accommodate up to 75 guests reception style and is well-suited for conferences as well as cocktail parties. This gallery, which will host changing exhibitions, offers a great space for private functions.
